Service Engineer

Role Summary

The Service Engineer is responsible for the installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and technical support of induction furnaces, channel furnaces, IGBT power supply systems, and other capital equipment manufactured by Pioneer Furnaces Pvt. Ltd.

The role requires delivering prompt and effective technical support to customers, ensuring optimum equipment performance, minimizing downtime, and maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction while adhering to company quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Installation & Commissioning

• Install and commission induction furnaces, channel furnaces, induction heating systems, power supply units, cooling systems, and associated auxiliary equipment and other capital equipment’s at customer sites.
• Verify proper installation of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and cooling systems.
• Configure machine parameters according to customer requirements and company standards.
• Conduct trial runs and performance testing before handing over the equipment to the customer.
• Ensure all commissioning checklists are completed and signed.

2. Preventive Maintenance

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance visits as per Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) or customer maintenance schedules.
• Identify potential failures before breakdown occurs.
• Replace worn-out components to improve equipment reliability.
• Recommend preventive actions for improved machine performance.

3. Breakdown Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Attend customer breakdown calls on priority.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, PLC, instrumentation, hydraulic, and cooling system faults.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring failures.
• Repair or replace defective components.
• Restore equipment to normal operating condition within committed timelines.
• Coordinate with design, production, and stores departments whenever technical support or spare parts are required.

4. Technical Support

• Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers.
• Assist customers in process optimization and improving furnace productivity.
• Guide operators and maintenance personnel on correct operating procedures.
• Resolve customer technical queries effectively.
• Support commissioning engineers during complex installations whenever required.

5. Spare Parts Management

• Identify spare parts required during service visits.
• Prepare spare parts consumption reports.
• Recommend critical spare stocking to customers.
• Coordinate with internal teams for timely spare dispatch.

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare detailed service reports after every customer visit.
• Maintain installation, commissioning, maintenance, and breakdown records
• Update service history in ERP/CRM systems.
• Prepare Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports whenever required.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineering.
• Freshers or candidates with 1–7+ years of experience in industrial equipment servicing may apply.
• Experience in induction furnaces, power electronics, or capital equipment will be preferred.
• Willingness to travel extensively across India.
• Overseas travel may be required based on project assignments.
• Must be available for emergency customer support during breakdown situations.

Preferred Competencies

• Knowledge of induction melting technology.
• Understanding of copper, brass, aluminium, zinc, and other non-ferrous metal melting applications.
• Familiarity with electrical safety standards and industrial maintenance practices.
• Experience in commissioning industrial capital equipment.
